Hoist your anchors and set sail. You're invited to join the pirate crew as we celebrate Nolan's 3rd Birthday!
My sister designed this adorable invite in 15 minutes! Thanks Amy! We had fun putting them in the bottles and adding sand, a sea shell and a gold doubloon.
First we had to open a few presents to get him ready for the big party!
Each bucaneer was given a red bandana, an eye patch and little pouch to keep their gold doubloons in. For each activity they earned a gold doubloon.
They decorated their own telescope while they waited for the other guests to arrive.
Then we let the games begin...
Musical Islands
Swab the Deck...
Walk the Plank...
Sword Fight...
Knock the Pirates Bean Bag Toss...
Presents...

Digging for treasure in the sand table...
I
had hidden necklaces, rings, gold doubloons and several small gold
nugget pieces they could dig and sift for. They had to count them all up
to make sure they had found them all.
Sink Float Water Table Fun...
The Treasure Hunt...
A message in a bottle was discovered in the ocean! It was the first clue. It led us to a map and another clue.
We followed the map and the clues as we journeyed through...
Big Bug Valley...
The office was crawling with bugs!
Never Falls...Tiki Forest...
Never Peak...
X marks the spot!
I had my heart set on the kids really digging for the treasure. I figured we would be digging in the snow but it had warmed up recently and all of the snow had melted. Plan B was the sandbox. It was the middle of the night by the time Chris and I went out to bury the treasure and the ground was too frozen to dig. I settled for burying the treasure in a big Tupperware of beans. A little anti-climatic.
Thankfully, we decided last minute to repeat the party the next day with family and this time I went out in the afternoon and was able to bury the treasure in the sandbox! It was the pinnacle event of the party!
Here they come...
R' me treasure at last!
A few more photos of the cutest pirate crew you have ever seen!
